May 30,  · I need help in installing Access Developer Extensions Type Library in MS Access I am unable to find any links which specify about it. Is the feature available in Microsoft office professional plus Thanks in advance. Apr 11,  · As far as I know, the Access Developer Extensions are on a single CD, so you obviously need to make sure you have installed that CD. If you need to be sure you have it installed, just look under Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel. It should be there as “Microsoft Office Access Developer Extensions”. It’s truly unbelievable that there appears to be no solution to this issue. After searching countless hours and getting caught in endless iterations following MSDN links, I still have no answer to the question that really shouldn’t be that difficult. I talked with a Microsoft representative who confirmed this before making the purchase of their product. I received the product and installed it, but there is nothing in the documentation that talks about the extensions. I simply need to deploy an application developed using Microsoft Office Access to a computer that doesn’t have Microsoft Office Access installed on it.

Microsoft documentation states this is possible by including the Microsoft Office Access Developer Extensions. If it’s a component of Visual Studion , where the heck is it?!!! I’m not the only developer facing this problem. I’ve found several related postings. Is there anyone that understands the problem that can give an intelligent answer? Well, I hope the Access group surprises you :- Others have reported discussions there on the Developer Extensions, so the expertise has been there.

Sometimes they’re difficult to find in other packages, though. Someone said, once, he had to search the CD to find the folder and install from there. There have been discussions about this in various newsgroups. You might also try a Google Group search. In other words, the VSTO box. They do not ship in any of the Visual Studio boxes. The Access team docs the Access product. The reason for the VSTO box was to continue the tradition of the Office Developer product, which combined in one box all the tools developers needed to build Office solutions.

This was a logical decision, and reasonable people can have reasonable disagreements with it. I believe the Access specialists would have the best information. I will heed your suggestion and try posting this question in the Access newsgroup. My thought is that the Access newsgroup would probably suggest I post a question in the VSTO newsgroup since that is where Microsoft claims to have packaged the extensions.

One last item. Are you making this statement from first hand knowledge or simply stating it because this is what MS claims in the VSTO product description? Sorry but I’m still not clear about this, we have just purchased “VS Tools for the Microsoft Office System” from Amazon, the sales literature both on Amazon and the box claim that this box includes “MS Access Developer Extensions and run time license” for use providing a full version of Office Pro is installed which we have.

So, why is it that I am unable to find these “extensions” or the Access “package wizard” to use or any Help surrounding this? Problem solved I have been working on this very same issue all day long. It is unbelievable that it takes such effort just to deploy an Access application. I would like to share the solution that I came up with.

Hopefully it will work for you and others. First, I saved my Access application in Access format. I have tested the application and for now everything seems to be working correctly. I hope this helps you and others. I’ve lost of day of development, but it solved my problem. Bryan, Thank you for the work around. I do not understand why MS fails to indicate the disk, the directory, etc. I am sorry, I just think that if this were really helpful and MS really wanted people developing with Access they would be a lot more forthcoming with the location of the needed files.

Personally I like using Access for development and fondly remember the days when the SDK was easy to come by and life was good. Sorry for the rant. Thanks again. If you’ve confirmed that it is installed, it’s possible that you’re just not looking in the right place to find where to launch the different tools.

Under that menu, you will find the Packaging Wizard and all of the other tools you are looking for. Ask a question. Quick access. Search related threads. Remove From My Forums. Answered by:. Found this further on through the forum, can anyone tell me if this has been resolved? Robert Sorry but I’m still not clear about this, we have just purchased “VS Tools for the Microsoft Office System” from Amazon, the sales literature both on Amazon and the box claim that this box includes “MS Access Developer Extensions and run time license” for use providing a full version of Office Pro is installed which we have.

Should we have bought something else? Thursday, May 24, AM. Not been having a great day, and my apologies for being a complete numpty! Eating humble pie for being impatient and not thinking straight. We’re trying to download it from MSDN and was looking for the correct image to download. Monday, July 23, PM.

Bought the CD. Still haven’t been able to produce the runtime. Doesn’t help much with Access Bryan Ruggeri Application Developer. Thursday, September 27, PM. Paull Nation. Tuesday, April 1, PM. I totally agree that it should be easier than this!! I have been hunting for the extensions for days. But I can’t find the Package Wizard and any of the new menus that are supposed to be there aren’t.

I don’t think it installed the extensions but I can’t see why not. Saturday, April 5, PM. Hope this helps!! Friday, April 11, PM.
