With your Zoom settings adjusted all you need to do is start playing the music you wish to include in your class. This could be via a streaming service Spotify, Apple music etc. You can control the volume of your music from whichever app you are playing it from. If you are unfamiliar with the settings you can always play a track as you introduce your event and check that others can hear before getting started with the event proper. Once your class is over don’t forget to stop the music via your music player app – simply removing your headphones will work for you, but not everyone else on the call!

By law, you are required to hold the correct licence in order to play music in any public environment, online or not. You should ensure that you have the right to exhibit the music you will use prior to your event see ‘Alternative music sharing methods’ below for a method that does not require a licence. If you’ve shared your device’s audio through your Zoom settings, as described above, your microphone doesn’t need to hear the music for it to be heard by your attendees.

In fact, your audio quality will be improved if the microphone doesn’t pick up the music at all. If it’s possible for you to connect headphones to your computer ideally without wires via Bluetooth, though wired headphones would work too if it’s safe for you to use them then you can listen to your music using these and ensure that your microphone only has to pick up the sound of your voice. Use an external microphone An external microphone is preferable if you have access to one. It should be positioned as close to you, the source of the sound, as possible.

Control the volume of the microphone It should also be possible for you to turn up your microphone via your device settings – meaning that your voice is given higher volume in the sound mix. The method to do this depends on the device that you are using but a quick Google of ‘how to increase the volume of mic on your device ‘ should help you find the guidance you need. Improve your environment Ensure that the space you are recording in has as little ambient noise as possible and that there is no echo.

Empty rooms with hard surfaces reverberate the most, aim for a room that isn’t completely empty and which contains soft surfaces like carpets and rugs.

Make sure your attendees are muted This is particularly important if you aren’t using headphones – any sounds your attendees make can be picked up by your microphone and played back to all. Another way for your attendees to enjoy music during your event is by sharing your own playlist prior to the event, then getting everyone to push play at the same time when you begin.

Most music streaming services offer a share functionality with various different ways to deliver your playlist -. If you record a Zoom session, you can upload and edit it in YouTube. How to play background music on Zoom without screen sharing | Zapier.

Pocket-lint – Zoom screen sharing is really easy to do if you’re on a Mac or PC, but we’ve seen numerous people comment on how they can’t share audio or video in their Zoom meetings. Of course, this could apply to a YouTube video, but it could be a music round for a Zoom pub quiz that you’ve saved on SoundCloud yes, we’ve done that or it could even be Spotify.

On a mobile device? While you can share content from your camera roll or elsewhere on other Zoom apps, you can’t screen share on a phone or tablet to Zoom. And when you enable the screen share, you can choose whether to share the audio from your computer as well.

Here’s how. Want to become a Zen master of Zoom? Check out our guide to the essential Zoom keyboard shortcuts. Sorry this didn’t help. My computer is acting very strange. When I go into the control panel, I have two headsets show up. If I try to set this as the default, I can not hear anything else while the zoom meeting is running, the test tone will not play, and the volume mixer simply will not work. If I set this as the default device, however, all my problems are solved except that the audio quality is very poor and there is always static in the background.

I don’t think there is any solution to this, just wanted to let you know in case my headphones are bad or this is not supposed to happen. Edit: the “stereo” headphones bring up the quality significantly and the volume mixer works with it but only when I’m not in a zoom meeting.

Could you explain how you changed the audio input device to the same as system for both microphone and speakers? I had the same problem. I solved this by changing the audio input device to same as system, both microphone and speakers.

Hi Bhavesh,. I had the same problem I tried to solve this using Bhavesh’s method it did not work I still don’t know how to solve this. I tried many ways like messing with audio settings but still it did not work. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Search the community and support articles Windows Windows 10 Search Community member. When I am in a zoom meeting, I am unable to hear anything except for the audio from the meeting.

This does not mean that I cannot hear other participants in the meeting, just that if there is another app with audio playing at the same time, I cannot hear it. I don’t know anyone else with this problem and can’t find any help on this issue on the Zoom help website. I use a Bluetooth headset, and all my drivers are up to date. I can hear sounds from other apps only when I am not in a meeting.
